For patients in South Africa
Facial Treatments in Turkey from South Africa: a plain guide to the non-surgical options
This overview of the non-surgical facial treatments we arrange in İzmir is written for patients travelling from South Africa. It explains each option briefly, how they are combined, and why most are best planned alongside another treatment rather than as a trip on their own.
In short: Non-surgical facial treatments include anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, skin boosters such as Jalupro, hydrafacial, plasma therapy and laser resurfacing. Most take under an hour with little or no downtime. A doctor assesses your skin before anything is planned, and results vary.

Injectables
- Anti-wrinkle injections — a prescription injectable, given by a doctor after assessment, that temporarily relaxes selected facial muscles so lines soften; effects usually last three to four months (full treatment page)
- Dermal fillers — gel injections that restore volume or shape areas such as the lips and cheeks; hyaluronic acid fillers usually last six to twelve months (full treatment page)
Skin boosters
- Jalupro V Lift — injections of amino acids and hyaluronic acid aimed at firmness and skin quality rather than volume (full treatment page)
- Jalupro Young Eye — a formulation for the thin skin under the eyes, used for fine lines and a tired look (full treatment page)
Skin surface and texture
- Hydrafacial — a device-based cleanse, exfoliation, extraction and hydration with no downtime (full treatment page)
- Plasma skin treatment — controlled energy for mild laxity and texture, leaving small crusts that usually fall away within several days (full treatment page)
- Laser skin resurfacing — laser treatment for lines, acne scars, sun damage and uneven tone; stronger settings need real recovery time (full treatment page)
For tightening with ultrasound or laser, see the non-invasive skin treatments guide, and for a wider view of skin quality the anti-ageing treatments guide. All facial treatments are listed on the facial treatments page.
Combining treatments
Some treatments sit well together, such as a skin booster with a hydrafacial; others, such as laser resurfacing, need the skin to settle first. The doctor decides the order, based on your skin and health, not on how far you have travelled. Results vary from person to person, and none of these treatments is a substitute for medical care.
Non-surgical or surgical?
Non-surgical treatments improve skin quality and soften lines, but cannot lift heavy, sagging tissue as surgery can. If that is your main concern, read our facial surgery guide and ask the doctor which approach fits.
Planning the trip from South Africa
- Flights: direct flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Istanbul take around ten hours, followed by a short domestic flight to İzmir
- Visa: South Africans apply for an e-Visa online before travelling; see the e-Visa guide
- Is the trip worth it? a long-haul journey only for a short non-surgical session is hard to justify; these treatments usually make sense when you are already coming to Turkey for another planned treatment
- Time difference: İzmir is one hour ahead of South Africa, which keeps follow-up calls simple
- Sun: South African sun is strong; after laser, plasma or a peel step the skin needs protecting, so ask how long before you plan time outdoors
- Cover: South African medical schemes generally do not cover elective treatment abroad, and standard travel insurance usually excludes planned treatment; check with both before you book
Follow-up at home
After you return, the same team follows up by message, photograph and video call. Your doctor at home should know what was injected or which device was used, so take the treatment record with you. Under our treatment guarantee, medical complications arising from the treatment, and any revision that becomes clinically necessary, are covered for one year from the date of treatment; flights and accommodation for any repair remain your own cost, and the guarantee does not cover a preference for a different aesthetic outcome. Facts about the clinic are on the clinic facts page, and if something goes wrong you can use our complaints process.
What we will not do
We will not inject or treat before a doctor has assessed your skin and medical history, we will not promise a result, and we will not suggest extra treatments to fill a trip. If a non-surgical option will not meet your goal, we will say so.
Frequently asked questions
Which facial treatment is right for me?
That depends on what bothers you: lines from muscle movement, lost volume, dull or uneven skin, or mild laxity. Send photographs and a short description, and the doctor will say which option, if any, fits.
Is it worth flying from South Africa only for a facial treatment?
Usually not. A ten-hour flight for a session that takes under an hour is hard to justify. These treatments make most sense when combined with another treatment you already plan in Turkey.
How long do I need to stay in Turkey?
Most facial treatments are outpatient and take under an hour, with little downtime. Laser resurfacing and plasma treatment need a few days for the skin to settle, so allow time for a check before you fly.
Are the results permanent?
No. Anti-wrinkle injections usually last three to four months and hyaluronic acid fillers six to twelve months. Skin treatments need maintenance sessions, and results vary from person to person.
Will my medical aid cover facial treatments?
South African medical schemes generally do not cover elective cosmetic treatment abroad, and standard travel insurance usually excludes planned treatment. Check with both before you book.
