ICL Surgery in Turkey: Implantable Lens Assessment
Revitalize in Turkey offers implantable lens assessment and treatment through its eye hospital and ophthalmologists. An implantable contact lens (ICL) is placed inside the eye while the natural lens remains in place. It may be considered for people seeking less dependence on glasses or contact lenses, including some who are unsuitable for laser correction.

Is ICL the same as lens replacement?
No. A phakic lens is added without removing the natural lens. Refractive lens exchange replaces the natural lens with an artificial lens. These options serve different needs; your prescription, age and eye health help determine which, if either, is appropriate.
Compare lens replacement options or read our phakic lens guide.
Who may be suitable?
Assessment includes prescription stability, measurements of the space inside the eye and examination of eye health. A high prescription or thin cornea alone does not establish suitability. Existing cataract, glaucoma or inflammation may affect the decision. Your ophthalmologist should explain the proposed implant and alternatives, including continuing with glasses or contact lenses.
Benefits, limitations and risks
The aim is to reduce dependence on optical correction; perfect vision or freedom from glasses cannot be promised. Risks include glare or halos, pressure changes, cataract, loss of corneal endothelial cells, infection and retinal complications. Some patients need further surgery to reposition, replace or remove the implant. Serious complications can cause permanent vision loss. Discuss your individual risks and ongoing monitoring before deciding.
Can an implanted lens be removed?
Removal or replacement may be possible if clinically needed, but it is another operation with its own risks. ‘Removable’ does not mean risk-free or that the eye is guaranteed to return to its previous condition.
Recovery and returning home
Ask your surgeon for personalised advice on drops, activity, driving, follow-up and when you may fly. Arrange access to eye care after returning home. A fixed short holiday itinerary should not determine the clinical schedule. Seek urgent eye care for sudden loss of vision or severe or worsening pain.
Planning treatment in Turkey
Before arranging travel, ask for the proposed hospital and treating ophthalmologist, the assessment schedule, the expected length of stay and the follow-up plan in writing. A remote enquiry helps organise your assessment; it cannot confirm surgical suitability.
What will my treatment cost?
Request an individual written quotation after your case has been assessed. Check whether the quote is for one eye or both, and whether consultation, scans, treatment, medicines and follow-up visits are included. Ask separately about accommodation, transfers, additional treatment and care after returning home. A price from another hospital or country is not a Revitalize quotation.
Prepare your enquiry
Tell us your country of residence, your diagnosis or main concern, previous eye procedures and the timing you are considering. If you have a recent prescription or eye reports, ask our team how to share them securely. Do not post medical documents in public comments.
