A COMMON QUESTION

What about All-on-8 dental implants?

Always ask how many implants are planned for each jaw. A label such as All-on-8 does not, by itself, tell you whether a quotation covers one jaw or both, or what replacement teeth are included.

All-on-4 describes a full arch supported by four implants in one jaw. If both jaws receive four implants each, the plan is four upper and four lower implants: eight implants in total supporting two arches. This should be stated explicitly, rather than presented as a universal definition of All-on-8.

Ask your dentist to specify the implant count per jaw, the temporary teeth and the final restoration. The appropriate plan depends on your bone, bite and oral health.

First visit: assessment and implant placement

The dentist examines your mouth and reviews imaging before confirming treatment. Implant placement, any extractions or grafting, and the temporary tooth arrangement depend on that assessment. Confirm the expected stay and follow-up appointments before booking flights.

Healing between visits

Implants are often left to integrate with the bone for around 3–6 months, sometimes longer. Grafting or additional treatment may extend the overall timetable. Temporary teeth may be fixed or removable; immediate fixed temporary teeth are suitable only in selected cases.

Later visit: final teeth and bite checks

Once healing and stability are adequate, the dentist takes impressions or scans, fits the final restoration and checks your bite and cleaning access. Temporary teeth fitted at the first visit do not automatically remove the need to return.

RECOVERY

Dental implants recovery timeline

Early recovery: Swelling, tenderness and minor bleeding can occur after placement. Follow your dentist’s written instructions for medicines, cleaning, food and activity, and attend the planned checks.

Bone healing: Integration usually takes several months. Feeling comfortable does not mean the implant is ready for unrestricted chewing. Your diet and any temporary restoration need to follow the dentist’s loading instructions.

Final restoration: The dentist checks healing and stability before fitting the final crown, bridge or denture. The schedule may change if further treatment is needed.

After returning home: Keep your implant and restoration details, maintain daily cleaning and arrange ongoing dental reviews. Contact the treating team promptly if symptoms worsen or the implant or restoration feels loose; urgent symptoms need local clinical assessment.

I was quite apprehensive beforehand, but the moment I met the surgeon and the team, all my worries disappeared. They were absolutely incredible , professional, reassuring, and genuinely caring.

We stayed at the Mandarin resort, which was lovely overall, and although there are a few small areas that could be improved, the experience surrounding the surgery itself was exceptional. Professor Ahmets hands gave me complete confidence, and the nurses were attentive, kind, and consistently supportive.

Our chaperones were brilliant throughout the stay. We had a few different ones, but Abbie supported my husband and me for most of our time there, and she was truly outstanding. Teona was also wonderful at the resort and Lali
The rest of the staff appear to be kind too.

We really enjoyed our time in Izmir exploring the bazaar, trying different restaurants, seeing the local sights, and having moments of proper relaxation too. The only area I feel could benefit from improvement is the food at the resort. Because it’s quite a distance from other places to eat, having more substantial meal options would make a big difference, especially for Brits recovering from surgery who often need protein-rich, hearty meals. The soups and porridge were delicious, but sometimes you just need a proper meal with meat and carbs to support recovery.

Aside from that, everything else was faultless. My husband also had dental work done, and the dentist was extremely attentive.

I was met at the airport by a lovely driver and there was another young lady with me as well.
We were dropped to the villa and given some soup which was nice.
Next day I had my surgery. Deep plane facelift, neck lift, temporal brow lift and upper eyes.
Everything went well and I spent the next 6 nights at the villa recovering.
It’s a lovely place to stay and you can even just pick oranges off the trees! They are super delicious.
I walked down to the sea one day as well. There are a couple of mini markets you can buy things from.
I 100% recommend this clinic to anyone looking to have surgery.
It takes all the stress out of it and they even found the flights for me!

The villa is just amazing, helpful friendly and experienced staff on call 24/7

The room at the villa had everything I needed and pull cords should help have been needed, thankfully it wasn’t.
