Jalupro Young Eye in Turkey from South Africa: what to know first

Jalupro Young Eye is an injectable skin booster made for the thin skin around the eyes. It contains hyaluronic acid, amino acids and peptides, and it is used to improve hydration and the quality of the skin rather than to add volume. This page explains what that means for South African patients.

In short: Jalupro Young Eye is injected with very fine needles in a 20 to 40 minute appointment. It is offered for fine lines, dark circles, puffiness and thin or dry skin around the eyes. Treatment plans usually involve two to three sessions a few weeks apart, which is the main practical issue for anyone travelling from South Africa.

What Jalupro Young Eye is

Unlike a traditional filler, which mainly restores volume, Jalupro Young Eye is described as a skin booster. Its formula combines hyaluronic acid, which holds moisture in the skin; seven amino acids, including glycine, proline, leucine and lysine; and peptides. It is used to support the skin’s own collagen and elastin production, the proteins that keep skin firm and elastic.

It is one of the injectable treatments listed among our recovery boosters and the wider anti-ageing treatments. If hollowing under the eyes is the main issue rather than skin quality, dermal fillers may be discussed instead.

What it is used for

  • Fine lines and crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Dark circles and under-eye shadows
  • Mild puffiness and a tired look
  • Thin, dry or less elastic skin around the eyes

It suits adults with early to moderate changes around the eyes who want a non-surgical option. Pronounced bags or heavy, hooded lids are usually a matter for eyelid surgery, which is covered in our facial surgery guide.

Before and during treatment

The practitioner reviews your medical history, examines the skin around your eyes and discusses what you hope to see. Mention any allergies, skin conditions or blood-thinning medicines.

On the day the skin is cleansed and a numbing cream may be applied. The solution is placed in small amounts into the superficial layer of the skin with very fine needles, and the area may be gently massaged. The appointment takes about 20 to 40 minutes.

Recovery and results

Mild swelling, small injection marks, redness and occasional bruising usually settle within a few days, and most people return to normal activities soon afterwards. Avoid rubbing the area, skip intense exercise for a short time and protect the skin from strong sun, which matters in a South African summer.

Any improvement develops gradually over a few weeks. Plans commonly involve two to three sessions spaced a few weeks apart, with maintenance sessions every few months. Results may last several months.

From Johannesburg or Cape Town it is around ten hours to Istanbul direct, then a short flight to İzmir; South Africans need an e-Visa, and Turkey is one hour ahead. Honestly, that journey only for an under-eye skin booster is hard to justify. It makes more sense alongside another treatment you were already planning in İzmir.

Because sessions are spaced weeks apart, ask before you travel whether a single session in Turkey is worthwhile for you, or whether further sessions would need to be arranged with a practitioner at home.

Risks

Possible side effects include swelling, bruising at the injection points, temporary skin sensitivity and, rarely, an allergic reaction. The skin around the eyes is delicate, so the treatment should only be given by a trained medical practitioner.

Results vary from person to person, and this is not a substitute for medical care.

Our treatment guarantee covers medical complications from treatment for one year, treated in İzmir at no charge (flights and accommodation are your own cost). It does not cover preferring a different look within what was discussed beforehand. See our complaints page and clinic facts.

Cost and cover

The cost of Jalupro Young Eye depends on the areas treated, the product, the number of sessions and what your package includes, all set out in your written plan. Medical schemes generally do not cover cosmetic treatment abroad and travel insurance usually excludes planned treatment, so check both.

What we will not do

We will not promise that dark circles or bags will disappear, we will not book a course of sessions you cannot realistically attend, and we will not treat without an assessment. More options are in our skin treatments guide for South African patients, and the UK Jalupro Young Eye page has further detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jalupro Young Eye a filler?

No. It is a skin booster used to improve hydration and skin quality around the eyes rather than to add volume.

How many sessions are needed?

Plans commonly involve two to three sessions spaced a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every few months depending on the skin.

Can I have the full course on one trip from South Africa?

Usually not, because sessions are spaced weeks apart. Ask before you travel whether one session is worthwhile for you or how further sessions could be arranged.

Is there any downtime?

Usually very little. Mild swelling, small marks or bruising generally settle within a few days, and most people return to normal activities soon afterwards.

Will my medical aid cover it?

South African medical schemes generally do not cover cosmetic treatment abroad, and standard travel insurance usually excludes planned treatment. Check with both first.
