How Much Does a Hair Transplant in Turkey Cost? UK Prices Compared

A hair transplant at Revitalize in Turkey starts at £2,450, and that figure includes five nights at our Mandarin Grove recovery retreat on half board, with transfers, medication and a full year of aftercare. In the UK, published guide prices for the procedure alone run from about £3,000 at budget London clinics to £6,500–£7,000 at Harley Street, before you add anywhere to stay.

That is the short answer. The rest of this page explains what sits behind it, because a single number is not a quote — and anyone who gives you one from a photograph is guessing.

Why we are not the cheapest clinic in Turkey

We could be. There are clinics in Turkey advertising a hair transplant for well under £1,500, and they are busy. What a price like that usually leaves out is the part that decides your result.

  • Hair restoration since 2001. Our doctors and team have been performing hair restoration in İzmir since 2001, from the early years of the procedure in Turkey. It is not a sideline added when the market grew.
  • You speak to the doctor, in English. The clinician who plans and performs your procedure speaks English, and so does the team around you. The most common complaint about budget hair transplant packages is that the patient never speaks to a doctor at all — sometimes never meets one — and the planning that matters most is done by whoever is available.
  • A licensed hair transplant unit. Turkey licenses hair transplant units specifically. Our clinical partner holds that operating permit alongside its Ministry of Health polyclinic licence and its international health tourism authorisation, and the documents are shown at consultation. Ask any Turkish provider to show you theirs; the market is large enough that this is worth checking. The same team has also received international business awards, including the European Quality Award (London, 2018) and Excellence in Service at the European Business Awards (2017).
  • Twelve months of follow-up. A hair transplant does not finish when you fly home. Most transplanted hair sheds before it regrows and density develops over twelve to eighteen months, so the year after surgery is when problems show. We stay in contact through that year rather than through the first fortnight.
  • A one-year revision guarantee. If the agreed outcome is not met within the year, revision is covered on the terms set out in your written agreement. Ask any provider whether a revision is included, and ask to see the terms in writing before you pay a deposit.

None of this is unique to us, and you should check whether a cheaper provider offers it too. The point is to compare the same things.

What a hair transplant costs in the UK

UK pricing varies more than most people expect. These are published guide prices, not our estimates:

Clinic / source Procedure Published price
Harley Street Hair Transplant Clinics 2,000 grafts £5,500 – £6,000
Harley Street Hair Transplant Clinics 3,000 grafts £6,500 – £7,000
Harley Street Hair Transplant Clinics DHI, from £4,000 (average around £6,000)
FKS Clinic, London Sapphire FUE, up to 3,000 grafts £2,999 + £200 fee
FKS Clinic, London DHI, up to 3,000 grafts £3,999 + £200 fee
Wimpole Clinic study, quoted by FKS Clinic 1,500 grafts, UK average quote £4,820 (range £1,995 – £15,000)

Two things are worth noticing. The first is the spread: £1,995 to £15,000 for the same graft count, depending on who you ask. The second is that the cheapest UK options are closer than the usual “a fraction of the price” claim suggests — a London budget clinic at £3,199 all in is not far from our £2,450, until you account for the five nights, transfers, medication and twelve months of follow-up that are in our figure and not in theirs.

Why the price differs at all

The honest answer is mostly cost base. Surgical staff, theatre time, premises and insurance cost less in İzmir than in central London, and that difference reaches the patient. It is not because fewer grafts are placed or because the follicles behave differently.

What it does not mean is that every Turkish price is the same price. Clinic volume in Turkey is very high, and the market contains everything from surgeon-led practices to operations where a technician does most of the work. The cost of a transplant and the quality of one are separate questions, and the second deserves most of your attention. Ask who will actually perform your procedure, ask whether you will be able to speak to them, and ask for the answer in writing.

What changes your figure

  • Graft count. This is the largest variable. A receding hairline and temples is a different operation from a hairline plus crown, and the count follows the diagnosis rather than the other way round.
  • Technique. FUE and DHI differ in how follicles are placed and how long the procedure takes, which is why DHI is priced higher. Which one suits you is a clinical decision, not a menu choice.
  • Area treated. Beard, eyebrow and eyelash work uses far fewer grafts than the scalp but takes more precision per graft, so it is not cheaper in proportion to the graft count.
  • Whether a transplant is the right treatment at all. Some hair loss is better treated medically first, or is still progressing and should be allowed to stabilise. A provider who skips this conversation is selling, not assessing.

What to ask for before you pay anything

Ask for a written plan rather than a price. It should name the clinician who will operate and the facility, state your diagnosis, give a proposed graft range and any donor-area limitations, set out the risks and the alternatives, say what follow-up is included and for how long, and state exactly what is and is not covered. If a quote arrives without those things, it is a number, not a plan. That test applies to any provider, here or elsewhere.

Indicative figures for our other treatments are on the price list, and the figure that applies to you is the one in your written plan.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a hair transplant cost in Turkey?

With us, from £2,450 for FUE and £3,100 for DHI, including five nights at Mandarin Grove on half board, transfers, medication and twelve months of follow-up. Across the Turkish market as a whole, prices vary widely, and a low headline figure sometimes reflects a technician-led procedure or a package with very little in it. Compare what is included, not only the number.

Is a hair transplant cheaper in Turkey than in the UK?

Usually, but not always. Our price sits well below Harley Street’s published guide prices, and below the London budget clinics once accommodation is counted — but on the procedure alone the cheapest UK offers are close. The difference is what sits around the operation: five nights in a recovery retreat, transfers, medication, a year of follow-up and a revision guarantee are in our figure and are not in theirs.

Will I be able to speak to the doctor?

Yes, in English. The clinician who plans and performs your procedure speaks English, as does the team looking after you before and after surgery. This is worth confirming with any provider you consider, because it is not standard across the Turkish market.

What does the one-year guarantee cover?

The package includes twelve months of follow-up and a one-year revision guarantee. Like any such guarantee it is contractual: it covers revision on defined terms and does not guarantee graft survival, hair density, appearance, longevity or a complication-free outcome. Eligibility, exclusions and the claim procedure are set out in your written agreement. Read those terms before booking — with us or with anyone else.

Are hair transplants permanent?

Transplanted follicles are taken from areas that are typically resistant to pattern hair loss, so they usually continue to grow. That is not a guarantee of a lifetime result: graft survival varies, some transplanted follicles keep donor characteristics, and your existing untransplanted hair can continue to thin. Further treatment is sometimes discussed later, with its own risks and costs.

How long do I need to stay in Turkey?

Our packages cover five nights. The clinician checks the grafts and donor area before you travel and confirms when you are fit to fly; there is no fixed timetable that overrides that check.

Does the NHS pay for a hair transplant?

No. Hair transplants are not available on the NHS for pattern hair loss, so UK patients pay privately wherever they have it done.

What happens after the procedure?

Swelling in the first days is common. Most transplanted hair sheds before it regrows, which is expected rather than a sign of failure, and density develops over many months rather than weeks. That is why our follow-up runs for a year rather than a fortnight. A final result cannot be promised.

Do you treat female hair loss?

Yes. Female hair restoration is priced at £2,450 on the same package. Female pattern loss is often diffuse rather than confined to a hairline, so assessment matters more and a transplant is not always the right answer.

Next step

If you want a figure that actually applies to you, the starting point is an assessment rather than a price list. You can request a free online consultation, or meet us in person at our London or Manchester consultation days before deciding anything.

Prices above were checked in November 2026. UK figures are the clinics’ own published guide prices and are included for comparison; they change, and they are not quotes from us.
