American Board of Plastic Surgery – Certification Guide
The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) is a United States specialty certification board. Its certification can be checked in the board’s own directory, but it must not be presented as a substitute for verifying a surgeon’s licence, specialty recognition and facility in the country where treatment will occur.
What ABPS certification means
ABPS describes certification as a voluntary credential based on specified training and examinations, with continuing requirements for applicable certificate holders. Certification is distinct from a medical licence and does not guarantee an individual result.
What it does not establish in Turkey
An ABPS label does not by itself confirm that a surgeon is authorised, registered or appropriately insured to practise in Turkey. How to verify a claim
- Check the exact name in the official ABPS directory if ABPS certification is claimed.
