Laser eye surgery in Turkey includes procedures such as LASIK, PRK and SMILE that reshape the cornea to reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses. The right option depends on the eye examination; no procedure guarantees 20/20 vision or lifelong freedom from glasses.
Assessment
Testing should review prescription stability, corneal shape and thickness, tear film, pupils, retina, glaucoma or cataract, medicines, health and previous surgery. Age alone or a remote prescription is not enough. Some people are better suited to glasses, contact lenses or a lens-based procedure.
How procedures differ
- LASIK: reshapes tissue beneath a corneal flap.
- PRK: reshapes the cornea after removing the surface layer, without a flap.
