About Dr. Serkan Biliş
Dr. Serkan Biliş is an ophthalmologist with over three decades of experience in eye health, cataract surgery and vision correction. Born in Adapazarı in 1969, he studied medicine at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, qualifying in 1992, and went on to complete his specialist training in Ophthalmology at the same institution.
Following his specialist training he worked across a number of institutions before settling into a long tenure at the Çankaya branch of the private Batıgöz Health Group in Izmir, where he continues to practise. His principal treatment areas are cataract surgery and refractive surgery — the correction of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism — using technologies including ReLEx SMILE and femtosecond laser.
His surgical volume is the standout figure in his record: he has performed more than 6,000 cataract surgeries. In a field where outcomes correlate strongly with case volume, that depth of experience matters — particularly for complex cases and for the premium intraocular lens technologies that demand precise pre-operative planning.
Alongside his clinical work he has presented approximately 50 scientific papers at international meetings, and holds an active board position within the Turkish Ophthalmological Association’s Optics, Refraction and Low Vision Rehabilitation Unit.
