Who may need bone grafting before dental implants?

Bone loss can follow tooth loss, gum disease or injury. An examination and appropriate imaging help the dentist assess the bone and nearby structures. Not every implant needs a graft. Discuss alternatives, including a tooth-supported bridge or removable denture, if grafting or implant surgery is unsuitable.

Which grafting approach might be used?

• Small bone defects: graft material and a protective membrane may be placed around an implant during the same procedure.
• Larger defects: bone may need to be rebuilt and reviewed before implant placement; some cases require a separate grafting operation.

Bone grafting cost in Turkey: what to compare

A bone graft quotation depends on the site, extent of surgery, material and any membrane or fixation. Ask for the grafting cost to be listed separately from implant placement, abutments and the final teeth. An advertised implant starting price is not a complete graft-and-implant quotation.
