For patients in South Africa
Nose and breast package in Turkey from South Africa: a plain guide
The nose and breast package combines rhinoplasty with breast augmentation, planned together so that face and body are treated within one stay. It suits some people well and others not at all, and the surgeon decides which. This page explains the two procedures, who the package suits, and how South African patients should plan the trip.
In short: The package combines rhinoplasty and implant breast augmentation, in one session or within the same treatment period. Most patients spend one to two nights in hospital, and many stay in Turkey seven to fourteen days. South Africans travel with an e-Visa via Istanbul to İzmir. The final nose shape can take up to a year to settle.

Guides for South African patients
Each part of this package has its own South African guide:

What the package combines
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose for appearance, breathing, or both: refining a hump, adjusting the tip or correcting a deviation. It is done under general anaesthesia with an open or closed approach, and a splint supports the nose afterwards.
Breast augmentation
Implants increase volume, improve symmetry or restore fullness after weight loss or pregnancy. Incisions may be under the breast fold, around the areola or in the armpit, and implants sit under the breast tissue or beneath the chest muscle.
Combining the two can mean one anaesthetic, one recovery period and one plan for face and body. More detail is on the nose and breast package page.
Who it suits
- People in good general health who want changes to both the nose and the breasts
- Non-smokers, or people willing to stop before surgery
- People at a stable weight with realistic expectations
Surgery may be postponed if a medical condition is not under control or your weight is changing significantly.
Assessment and surgery
Planning starts remotely with photographs and your history, then continues in person in İzmir with an examination, facial analysis, breast measurements, implant planning and blood tests where needed. After surgery most patients spend one to two nights in hospital, with pain relief, monitoring, a support bra and the nasal splint.
Planning the trip from South Africa
- Flights: direct flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Istanbul take around ten hours, followed by a short domestic flight to İzmir
- Visa: South Africans apply for an e-Visa online before travelling; see the e-Visa guide
- Stay: many patients stay between seven and fourteen days; the splint usually comes off after about a week
- Recovery: after one to two nights in hospital, you stay near İzmir between check-ups until the surgeon clears you
- Fitness to fly: the surgeon decides when you can fly, so book a return ticket you can change
- On the flight: wear your support bra, choose an aisle seat, walk regularly and drink water; ask for help with luggage
- Time difference: Turkey is only one hour ahead of South Africa, which makes follow-up calls easy
- Cover: medical schemes generally do not cover cosmetic surgery abroad, and travel insurance usually excludes planned surgery
What decides the cost
The plan depends on the rhinoplasty technique, implant choice and how long you need in hospital and recovery. Pricing is transparent, and your written quotation sets out what is included.
Follow-up at home
Expect swelling around the nose and breasts at first; most daily activities resume after six to eight weeks, while the nose keeps refining for months. Follow-up continues by photograph, message and video call. Take home your implant card and the brand, size and placement details. Complications and clinically necessary revisions within a year are covered by our treatment guarantee; it does not cover a preference for a different look where the result is within what was discussed with you, and flights and accommodation for any revision remain your own cost. Facts about the clinic and surgeons are on the clinic facts page, and if something goes wrong you can use our complaints process.
What we will not do
We will not confirm a combined plan before a surgeon has reviewed you, we will not promise a result, and if one longer operation is not safe for you, we will say so and plan the procedures separately.
Frequently asked questions
Can rhinoplasty and breast augmentation be done together?
Yes, for suitable patients, after a full medical assessment. The surgeon decides whether to do both in one session or within the same treatment period, based on your health and the length of anaesthesia.
Is recovery harder when the two are combined?
The first days can feel more demanding because you are healing in two places. Overall recovery time is often shorter than having the two operations separately.
How long should I stay in Turkey?
Many patients stay between seven and fourteen days, depending on recovery. The nasal splint usually comes off after about a week, and the surgeon decides when you are fit for the ten-hour flight home.
When will I see the final result?
Breast swelling settles over the first weeks and months. The nose takes longer: early changes show quickly, but the final shape can take up to a year to settle.
Will my medical aid cover the nose and breast package?
South African medical schemes generally do not cover cosmetic surgery, and standard travel insurance usually excludes planned surgery abroad. If you have a breathing problem, ask your scheme specifically, and do not rely on cover until they confirm it in writing.
