Eyelid Surgery Before and After: Transformative Results
Eyelid surgery before-and-after photographs can illustrate possible changes, but they do not predict an individual result. Images should be viewed alongside a clinical assessment, a discussion of limitations and information about risks.
What can blepharoplasty address?
Upper eyelid surgery may remove selected excess skin or tissue. Lower eyelid surgery may address selected skin, fat or support concerns. Brow position, eyelid droop, dry eye, thyroid disease and other eye conditions can affect what treatment—if any—is suitable.
How to review before-and-after images
- Check lighting, expression, angle and camera distance.
- Ask how long after surgery the photograph was taken.
- Look for cases with broadly comparable anatomy.
- Remember that ageing continues and healing varies.
- Do not treat a digital simulation as a guaranteed outcome.
Risks and recovery
Risks include bleeding, infection, dry or irritated eyes, poor eyelid closure, asymmetry, scarring, eyelid-position change, double vision, visual disturbance and further treatment. Swelling and bruising vary. Sudden visual loss or severe eye pain after surgery requires immediate assessment.
