Bleph Eyelid Surgery: Enhancing Your Eyes
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) may remove or reposition selected skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. Suitability depends on eye health, anatomy, symptoms, goals and an individual assessment.
What should be assessed?
- Upper or lower eyelid concerns and eyelid position.
- Dry-eye symptoms, vision, brow position and medical conditions.
- Medicines, smoking and previous eye or facial procedures.
- Whether symptoms are cosmetic, functional or need another diagnosis.
Suture choice, incision and anaesthesia depend on the operation. No material or technique guarantees natural results or avoids follow-up.
Risks and recovery
Risks include bleeding, infection, dry or irritated eyes, poor eyelid closure, asymmetry, scarring, eyelid-position change, double vision, visual disturbance and further treatment. Follow the surgical team’s own advice for eye care, medicines, head position, activity and urgent symptoms rather than a universal instruction.
See Revitalize’s blepharoplasty guide, oculoplasty information and upper eyelid treatment page. Unrelated breast or neck procedures are not evidence about eyelid suitability.
