Stomach Liposuction: Assessment, Risks and Revitalize Care
Stomach liposuction removes selected subcutaneous fat from the abdomen through suction. It is not a weight-loss treatment and cannot correct visceral fat, every contour concern, substantial loose skin or muscle separation.
Assessment and alternatives
Assessment should cover fat distribution, skin elasticity, abdominal wall, scars, weight stability, health, medicines, smoking, previous surgery, blood-clot risk and expectations. Alternatives may include no procedure, supported weight management, another liposuction technique, abdominoplasty when skin or muscle treatment is needed, or bariatric assessment for a different clinical indication.
Risks and recovery
Risks include bleeding, infection, fluid imbalance, contour irregularity, asymmetry, persistent numbness, skin injury, scars, blood clots, fat embolism, anaesthetic complications, dissatisfaction and revision. Swelling can obscure the result for months. Garments, work, travel and exercise timing must follow the operating surgeon’s personal plan.
The NHS liposuction guide explains the procedure, recovery and possible complications.
Revitalize checks
Confirm the named contracted surgeon and hospital, exact areas and technique, anaesthesia, tests, written quotation, garments, follow-up, exclusions and complication plan. See Revitalize’s liposuction information, named doctors and assessment route.
