Gliding Brow Lift: Assessment, Risks and Limitations
A gliding brow lift is one approach to repositioning selected forehead and brow tissues. Technique names alone do not establish that a procedure is less invasive, natural-looking or suitable for an individual, and millimetres of lift cannot be translated into years of rejuvenation.
Assessment and alternatives
The surgeon should assess brow position, forehead and eyelid anatomy, hairline, facial movement, skin, health, medicines, smoking, previous procedures and expectations. Alternatives may include no treatment, another brow-lift technique or selected non-surgical care.
Technique and limitations
Incisions, tissue release and fixation vary. The surgeon should explain where scars may lie, how the method affects the hairline and nerves, and whether eyelid or forehead concerns need separate treatment. Exact symmetry, scar visibility or duration cannot be promised.
Risks and recovery
Risks include bleeding, infection, fluid collection, delayed healing, visible scars, hair loss, asymmetry, altered sensation, nerve weakness, over- or under-correction, recurrence, dissatisfaction and revision. Recovery varies.
