Temple Lift Terminology: Assessment, Risks and Care
Temple lift and temporal lift are cosmetic-surgery terms that may describe lifting tissues around the outer brow and temple. “Dragon temple lift” is not a standard clinical procedure name, and a marketing label does not define the operation.
Clarify what is proposed
Ask the operating surgeon which tissues and areas would be treated, where incisions would be placed, whether the brow or mid-face is included and what the procedure cannot change. Endoscopic, lateral brow, temporal and facelift techniques are not interchangeable.
Assessment and alternatives
Assessment should cover brow position, eyelids, temples, hairline, facial nerve function, skin, health, medicines, smoking, previous procedures and expectations. Alternatives may include no treatment, a different surgical approach or a non-surgical option with different limitations.
Risks
Possible complications include bleeding, infection, blood clots, anaesthetic reactions, nerve injury, altered sensation or movement, asymmetry, hair loss near incisions, visible scars, contour change, dissatisfaction and revision. No technique can guarantee a particular eye or brow shape.
