Lip Cosmetic Procedures: Options, Risks and Assessment

Lip cosmetic procedures include surgical lip lift, selected implants and non-surgical treatments. They are not interchangeable, and suitability depends on anatomy, function, health and the change being considered.

Assessment and options

A clinician should assess lip and dental relationships, facial proportions, symmetry, scars, oral health, medicines, allergies, previous treatments and expectations. Options may include no treatment, temporary filler, a lip lift, corner lift, implant or another targeted procedure.

Risks and limitations

Risks vary by treatment and can include bleeding, infection, scars, asymmetry, altered sensation, stiffness, implant movement or exposure, vascular injury with injectable treatment, dissatisfaction and revision. A particular shape, volume or “perfect” result cannot be guaranteed.

Recovery and cost

Swelling and recovery vary. Request an individual quotation identifying the named contracted clinician and facility, exact procedure or product, anaesthesia, follow-up, exclusions and complication arrangements. Do not assume that finance or payment options are available unless Revitalize confirms them in writing for the individual plan.
