ABOUT
About Dr. Murat Melih Can
Dr. Murat Melih Can is a plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon whose career has been built on a foundation of advanced surgical training and a commitment to patient-centred care. He completed his schooling in Kütahya and Eskişehir Science High School before studying medicine at Başkent University, qualifying as a Doctor of Medicine in 2006.
His path into plastic surgery was not the conventional one. He first worked in emergency medicine at Dokuz Eylül University’s Department of Emergency Medicine from 2006 to 2007 — a demanding environment that builds rapid assessment and decision-making under pressure. He then undertook five years of specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, qualifying as a specialist in 2013.
Following his residency he served in public and teaching hospitals — the Plastic Surgery Clinic at Kars State Hospital (2013–2014), then the Plastic Surgery Clinic at Bozyaka Training and Research Hospital in Izmir (2014–2016). He moved into private practice in 2016 and has run his own clinic in Izmir since 2018.
That reconstructive grounding is what shapes his aesthetic work. Reconstructive surgery demands a deep working knowledge of anatomy, tissue healing, surgical planning and functional restoration — knowledge that carries directly into aesthetic procedures. His approach combines the precision of reconstructive technique with the artistic judgement aesthetic enhancement requires. He speaks advanced English, and is married with one child.
APPROACH
Treatment Philosophy
Dr. Can’s practice rests on the belief that every patient requires an individualised plan — anatomy, medical history, aesthetic goals and lifestyle are each assessed before surgery is recommended.
