OVERVIEW
What is eye treatment?
Eye treatments encompass a range of procedures designed to improve vision, treat common eye conditions, and reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses. Depending on your needs, treatment may involve laser technology, advanced intraocular lenses, or surgical techniques, and includes several broad categories:
Laser vision correction — reshaping the cornea to correct refractive errors such as short-sightedness, long-sightedness, and astigmatism
Lens replacement surgery — replacing the eye’s natural lens with a premium artificial lens to improve vision and address age-related changes
Cataract surgery — removing a cloudy natural lens and replacing it with a clear intraocular lens to restore vision
Specialist lens options — including multifocal and toric lenses designed to reduce dependence on glasses while correcting conditions such as astigmatism
Each treatment is carefully planned around your eye health, vision requirements, lifestyle, and expectations. Use the grid above to explore the full details of each procedure — the sections below cover what applies across all eye treatments.
Vitrectomy and retinal assessment
For conditions affecting the back of the eye, explore our vitrectomy treatment page. A retinal specialist must decide whether surgery, another treatment or monitoring is appropriate. Sudden flashes, new floaters, a curtain or sudden loss of vision need urgent local eye care: do not wait for a travel quotation or WhatsApp reply. Our retinal detachment guide explains the warning signs.
Your eye treatment journey with Revitalize in Turkey
Choosing eye treatment abroad involves more than choosing an operation. Based in Izmir, Revitalize in Turkey has more than two decades of experience welcoming international patients. Our own team stays in contact from your first enquiry through appointments, your stay in Turkey and communication after you return home. Read why patients choose Revitalize for the experience and personal service behind this approach.
Before you travel: a plan for your eyes and your stay
We gather your medical history, previous eye treatment information and relevant reports for the appropriate ophthalmologist to review. A doctor video consultation can be arranged where appropriate. Your personal treatment process includes a written proposal covering the intended procedure, appointments and agreed travel arrangements. The doctor determines suitability, discusses alternatives and explains the potential benefits and risks.
Review our medical specialists and hospital information, then confirm the ophthalmologist and facility for your specific procedure before booking. Our UK meetings offer an opportunity to discuss a planned journey in person; they do not replace an eye examination or urgent local care.
Private transfers and English-speaking support
A private driver meets you at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. We organise transport to your consultation, procedure and follow-up appointments, with bilingual support for communication and practical needs. Our Revitalize team provides a familiar point of contact throughout your stay. Hospital chaperone arrangements and any overnight stay are confirmed in your individual plan; clinical care is provided by your medical team.
Mandarin Grove: a comfortable base between appointments
Our own Mandarin Grove retreat in Urla offers private rooms, peaceful surroundings, freshly prepared breakfast and dinner, and 24/7 practical and English-speaking hospitality support. We arrange transport back to your clinic for checks and help you contact your doctor if a concern arises. Mandarin Grove provides accommodation and hospitality; examinations, medication advice and clinical follow-up take place with the healthcare professionals responsible for your care.
Follow-up in Turkey and after returning home
Our recovery and aftercare support includes organising follow-up visits and maintaining a route back to your medical team after departure. We forward requested progress information and help relay your doctor’s feedback. Your ophthalmologist sets your review schedule and advises when flying is appropriate. A general package timetable cannot override those instructions, particularly after retinal surgery involving a gas bubble.
Patient experiences and independent reviews
Read Revitalize patient reviews and UK press coverage, with links to current reviews on independent platforms. Our patient video library includes lens replacement and laser eye surgery experiences as well as films about Mandarin Grove and the team. These help you understand the journey and service; an individual’s experience is not a guarantee of your result.
Questions about planning eye treatment in Turkey
Which eye procedure is right for me?
An ophthalmologist needs to assess your eye health, diagnosis and goals. Start with your existing reports and current medicines. The assessment may lead to surgery, another treatment or advice that surgery is unsuitable.
What should my treatment quotation include?
Ask for the proposed doctor, facility, procedure, examinations, follow-up appointments, accommodation and transfers in writing. Confirm what is excluded and the arrangements for additional visits or a longer stay.
Will someone help me between appointments?
Yes. The Revitalize team organises transport, assists with communication and provides practical support. Mandarin Grove offers private accommodation, half-board meals and round-the-clock hospitality assistance as agreed in your plan. Medical care remains with your doctor and clinic or hospital.
How long should I stay and when can I fly?
The procedure and your ophthalmologist’s follow-up requirements determine your stay. Do not assume all eye treatments share the same timetable. After vitrectomy, do not fly while gas remains in the eye; obtain your ophthalmologist’s clearance.
What support is available after I go home?
We help you remain in contact with your medical team, forward requested updates and coordinate further discussions when recommended. Seek appropriate local care for urgent symptoms rather than waiting for a remote reply.
