RECOVERY
Breast lift recovery timeline
Days 1–3: Rest with your upper body slightly elevated to help reduce swelling. Mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising are expected during this period, and your dressings and any drains (if used) will be monitored by our nursing team. You’ll also be advised to wear a supportive surgical bra throughout the early stages of recovery.
Days 4–7: If drains have been placed, they are usually removed during this period. You’ll become more comfortable carrying out light daily activities while continuing to wear your surgical bra. Most patients are able to fly home after 5–7 days, subject to their surgeon’s approval.
Weeks 2–6: Swelling continues to improve, and you can gradually return to normal daily activities. Heavy lifting, upper body workouts, and strenuous exercise should be avoided until your surgeon confirms it is safe to resume them. Your breasts will continue to settle into their new position during this time.
Months 3–6: The breasts continue to soften and settle into their final shape, scars gradually fade, and any remaining swelling resolves. With a stable weight and healthy lifestyle, your breast lift results are long-lasting, although the natural ageing process will continue over time.
