Dental Implants in Turkey

A dental implant procedure is one of the most effective solutions for restoring missing teeth by replacing both the tooth root and crown with a durable, natural-looking restoration. Designed to improve function, appearance, and long-term oral health, dental implants provide a stable, permanent foundation that looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.

Most patients fly home after 3-5 days, depending on the extent of their treatment. Following the placement of dental implants, the implants gradually integrate with the jawbone over the following months, creating a strong, long-lasting foundation for the final restoration. With good oral hygiene and regular dental care, dental implants can last for many years.

THE PROCEDURE

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant procedure replaces one or more missing teeth by inserting a small titanium implant into the jawbone, where it functions as an artificial tooth root. Once the implant has integrated with the bone, it is restored with a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture to provide a secure, natural-looking replacement.

Unlike removable dentures or traditional bridges that rely on neighbouring teeth for support, dental implants replace the missing tooth from the root upwards. This helps preserve the jawbone, maintain facial structure, restore full chewing function, and provide a stable, long-lasting solution that looks and feels like a natural tooth.

At Revitalize in Turkey, every dental implant treatment is carefully planned to suit your oral health, bone structure, and long-term goals. Our experienced implant dentists use advanced digital planning and internationally recognised implant systems to deliver precise, predictable results, combining high-quality dental care with the exceptional value and hospitality that have made Turkey a leading destination for dental treatment.

SUITABILITY

Are you a candidate for dental implants?

Dental implants may be right for you if you:

  • Have one or more missing teeth and want a permanent replacement

  • Have healthy gums and sufficient jawbone to support dental implants, or are suitable for bone grafting if required

  • Find removable dentures uncomfortable or unstable

  • Want to restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence

  • Are in good general health and committed to maintaining good oral hygiene

  • Have realistic expectations about the treatment process, including the healing period before the final restoration is fitted

Candidacy is always confirmed following a comprehensive dental assessment, including your medical history, digital scans or X-rays, and a clinical examination. If dental implants are not the most suitable option, we will honestly recommend the treatment that best meets your needs, whether that’s a dental bridge, implant-supported dentures, or another restorative solution.

RECOVERY

Dental implants recovery timeline

Day 1: The dental implant is placed under local anaesthetic or sedation, depending on your treatment plan. Mild swelling, tenderness, and minor bleeding are normal during the first 24 hours and are usually well controlled with prescribed medication.

Days 2–7: Any initial discomfort gradually improves, and most patients can return to normal daily activities within a few days. A soft diet and good oral hygiene are recommended while the implant site begins to heal. Most patients are comfortable enough to fly home after 5–7 days, subject to the dentist’s approval.

Weeks 2–12: The gum tissue continues to heal while the implant gradually fuses with the jawbone through a natural process called osseointegration. Temporary restorations may be worn where appropriate, depending on the treatment plan.

Months 3–6: Once the implant has fully integrated with the jawbone, your custom-made permanent crown, bridge, or denture is fitted. With good oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, and proper care, dental implants can provide a strong, stable, and long-lasting solution for missing teeth.

SAFETY FIRST

Risks & safety

A tummy tuck is a well-established procedure, but like any surgery, it carries risks, which we discuss openly during your consultation. These can include swelling, bruising, temporary numbness, fluid collection (seroma), delayed wound healing, and — more rarely — bleeding, infection, blood clots, or changes in skin sensation.

We minimise these risks by performing a comprehensive pre-operative health assessment, using meticulous surgical techniques, and providing structured aftercare with 24/7 access to our medical team throughout your stay. Your surgeon will explain your individual risk profile in detail and provide personalised guidance to support a safe recovery.

ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots, typically made from medical-grade titanium, that are surgically placed into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. Once healed, they support a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture that looks and functions like natural teeth.

Who is a good candidate for dental implants?

Most adults with one or more missing teeth, healthy gums, and sufficient jawbone are suitable candidates. If you have experienced bone loss, procedures such as bone grafting or a sinus lift may make implant treatment possible.

How long do dental implants last?

With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last for many years and often for decades. The crown attached to the implant may require replacement over time due to normal wear.

Is dental implant treatment painful?

The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during treatment. Mild discomfort, swelling, or tenderness afterwards is common but usually manageable with prescribed medication and typically subsides within a few days.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment times vary depending on your individual case. In many cases, the implant is placed first and allowed to heal for 3–6 months before the permanent restoration is fitted. Some patients may be suitable for immediate temporary teeth.

How many trips to Turkey will I need?

This depends on your treatment plan. Many patients require two visits—one for implant placement and another several months later for the permanent crowns. In selected cases, immediate loading protocols may reduce the number of visits.

Can I replace all of my teeth with dental implants?

Yes. Patients missing all or most of their teeth may benefit from full-arch solutions such as All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants, which support a complete fixed arch using four or six strategically placed implants.

Can I eat normally after dental implants?

A soft diet is recommended for the first few days after surgery. Once healing is complete and the final restoration has been fitted, most patients can comfortably eat a wide variety of foods.

What happens if I don't have enough bone?

If there is insufficient jawbone to support an implant, your dentist may recommend a bone graft or sinus lift to increase bone volume before implant placement.

Can smokers have dental implants?

Smoking increases the risk of complications and implant failure by affecting healing. Smokers may still be eligible for treatment but are strongly advised to stop smoking before and after surgery to improve the chances of long-term success.
